Shopmobility Help

To find details and information about a Shopmobility Scheme, click Shopmobility Directory on the menu to the left.

Text Search & Browse.

You may then search for schemes by entering the name of the town/city or the county you are looking for and clicking the Search button. You only need to enter a few characters and the system will find all results containing those characters.

Examples

Entering "Chest" as a town will find :

Chester, Chesterfield, Chichester, Colchester, Dorchester, Greater Manchester (Trafford Centre), Manchester (Arndale Centre), Sale - Manchester, Stretford & Winchester.

Entering "Yorks" as a county will find all schemes in Yorkshire, whether it be South Yorkshire, North Yorkshire etc.
 

If you enter your Postcode the distance to the schemes (in a straight line) will be shown in the search results. You may also choose to only show schemes within a certain distance from the postcode entered.

Browse Schemes.

You may also browse through the scheme directory by clicking keys on the onscreen keyboard. This will show all schemes in a town beginning with the letter clicked. The distance to a scheme will be shown if there is a postcode entered in the text search boxes.

Search Results.

The results of your search or browse are shown to the right. The search results may be sorted by clicking on the arrow at the top of the column you would like to sort by.

To view full details of a scheme, including location, opening hours, contact details etc., click on the name of the scheme in the search results.

If the search results are "Grayed Out" it indicates that the results no longer correspond to the information entered in the search boxes. Click the Search button to update the results.

The system will remember your last search results for 20 minutes, even if you visit other pages on the Shopmobility website.

Map Search & Browse.

You may also find and browse the Shopmobility schemes via an interactive map. Click Map Search & Browse at the top right of the Shopmobility Directory page. To view schemes, which are indentified on the map by an arrow attached to the Shopmobility logo, zoom and scroll the map using the buttons shown. Schemes will only be shown if you are zoomed in to a least a certain level, typically a county.

Two display windows to the right of the map provide the following information:

Top Display Window

This shows information on the number of schemes shown on the map, and a brief help message.

Bottom Display Window 

This window is initially empty. If you move your mouse over a scheme icon on the map, this window will show the name and address of the scheme. It will remain on display until you move your mouse over a different scheme icon or navigate away from the page. The scheme name will also be shown as a small text box below the mouse pointer.

To view full details of a scheme, including location, opening hours, contact details etc., click on the scheme icon on the map.

The system will remember your scroll and zoom settings for the map for 20 minutes, even if you visit other pages on the Shopmobility website.

Shopmobility Scheme Details.

Clicking on a scheme name in the search results, or a scheme icon on the map will show the scheme details.

Across the top of the page is the Name of the scheme and to the right a link back to your Search Results. If you have clicked on a map icon, Search Results will return you to the map.

Location and Contact details for the scheme are shown on the left.

The right of the screen shows four "Tabs", change between the tabs by clicking the heading. These are:

Facilities

Shown is a series of symbols indicating the facilities offered by the scheme. To view a summary of the facilities move your mouse pointer over a symbol, to view details click on the symbol. To view a description of ALL facilities icons, click on "Symbols Key" to the right.

Below the facilities symbols is shown the opening hours of the scheme.

Information

Shown is notes and information about the scheme, please note not all schemes have information.

News

Shown is news from the scheme, please note not all schemes have news.

Map

Shown is a map showing the location of the scheme. Currently this is calculated from the postcode of the scheme and may not be 100% accurate, please note if a scheme has no valid postcode, no map will be available.

Please note that this website has been designed, and is best viewed, with the screen resolution of at least 1024 x 768.
